From the very beginning, St. Louis Guanella involved friends and interested neighbors in his work of caring for the poor and those in need. Among his many associates were the architect Aristides Leonori, his neighbor Mrs. Magdalen Albini Crosta, and his sister Catherine. Wanting to share not only the work but also the spiritual motivation behind them, Fr. Guanella invited these friends to join together as an association, which today we call the Guanella Cooperators.
The Cooperators, a part of the Guanellian Lay Movement, join with the Sisters and Priests in serving Jesus in the their brothers and sisters in Nursing Care homes and residences for people with Special Needs, as well as in Soup Kitchens, parish ministry and education.
