Whether it’s for a short-term rehab stay or a permanent change of residence, consider making Divine Providence your first choice.
With Sleepy Eye Lake to the west and gardens all around, the inviting views add to the peace and beauty of our Home. With friendly and caring staff, engaging activities, delicious meals and a spacious campus, our residents tell us that “if you can’t be home, it’s the best place to be.”
Family Time
When you come to Divine Providence Home one of the first things you’ll notice is the many spaces available for visiting, both inside and outside. We believe families are important, so making families feel welcome is a priority for us. Grand-friends like to gather with their relatives and friends in the Mall, the Snack Shop, the Fire-side Room, the Family Room and around the aviary to visit and enjoy the company of their loved ones. In good weather, our out-door enthusiasts enjoy visiting in the shade of the Pergola in the Angel Courtyard or in the gazebo in the North Courtyard. And, any weather is great for enjoying a meal together in the Lake Villa Café.
Accommodations
To accomodate budget and preference, Divine Providence offers single and double rooms. Single rooms include a private half-bath room (sink and toilet). Double rooms have a shared half-bath with a private sink and vanity for each resident, and a privacy curtain to divide the room. Staggered framing architecture adds to the sense of privacy. Residents are welcome to decorate their rooms with family photos, favorite quilts and wall hangings and similar items. Divine also offers five short-term care private rooms for Rehab or hospice care.
Person-Centered Care
We all value our independence, and making choices is an important part of maintaining that sense of independence. Residents at Divine Providence are encouraged to maintain their normal daily routine as much as possible. When to get up and when to retire for the night, whether to take a relaxing whirlpool bath or a quick shower, whether to engage in favorite activities or pull back for some cherished personal time are just some of the choices that keep our residents in the driver’s seat when it comes to their care.
Additional Services
Since getting out in the community can be more challenging in our older years, Divine Providence Home offers many services that bring the community to our campus. Our beauty shop is opened twice a week to offer styling, color rinses and perms. Our Ladies’ Auxiliary maintains a card and gift shop in the Mall, with birthday and greeting cards – as well as special occasion cards – available year round. Social groups – including the quilting ladies, card players and the Red Hat Ladies – gather regularly and welcome members who are now residing in the Home or the Lake Villa Apartments. Residents are able to visit our spacious chapel any time for prayer and quiet reflection. Catholic Church services (Mass and Rosary) are offered daily, with Protestant Services offered as possible (per the Pastors’ availability).
Moving In
If you or someone you love is in need of skilled nursing care, come visit us and see first-hand what we have to offer. We’ll be happy to answer your questions and discuss residential options for today or for the future.
Our admission process begins with a doctor’s referral stating that long-term care is necessary or suitable. Our Interdisciplinary team reviews the referral to ensure our ability to provide the care that is needed. The next step is to schedule a visit for a tour and to review our admission packet. Our packet includes information you’ll need about Resident Rights , Medical Assistance, Community based supports and more. Our Resident Handbook provides information specific to Divine Providence, as well as the many forms requesting information that will help us tailor your care — as much as possible — to your personal preferences.

My mom can now get herself to her beauty shop appointments. She is more independent than when she lived at home.
