You might think that “retiring to the Lake House” means a lot of quiet and lazy days, but that’s not the case at Divine Providence Home. Our monthly Activity Calendar tells the tale.
Our most popular activities are offered weekly, including Bingo, “Melody and Motion” exercise program, Young at Heart intergenerational activities, Trivia games, card and table games, Bible Study, Sing-a-longs, and live entertainment (most weeks). For those who like a quieter pace, individual visit and personalized activities bring peace and flow to each day.
Special Sessions are also offered throughout the year and include Fine Arts (painting and art work), Kitchen Helpers (helping to make apple pies in the Fall, and dumplings for Saur Kraut day), and…
As the weather permits, we also like to get out and enjoy the fresh air. Outings range from enjoying light displays at Christmastime, fishing from the pontoon on Lake Sleepy Eye, rides through the country (with occasional stops for ice cream), and outdoor activities.
Throughout the year, special occasions are marked by festive decorations and delightful celebrations. Families are invited to join us for Mother and Daughter Tea on Mother’s Day, and the Father-Son dinner for Father’s Day. 4th of July celebrations start early and end with viewing the Sportsman’s Park Fire Works display from our dining room. Trick-or-Treaters are invited to show off their costumes and share in Halloween treats and fun. The Christmas season is kicked- off with our Lady’s Auxiliary Fall Bazaar and Roast Beef Dinner. And just for fun, we throw in a few waffle-nights and “Take Out” nights.
