Welcome to Divine Providence
Welcome to Divine Providence Community Home
On September 30, 1960 four Daughters of St. Mary of Providence arrived in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota to participate in the mission begun by their founder, Blessed Aloysius Guanella, a mission of care and compassion under the direction of Our Lady of Divine Providence.
The Guanellian Sisters, St. Mary’s Parish, Clergy and Religious of the New Ulm Diocese, Staff of Divine Providence Home and the residents of the Sleepy Eye Community have continued this compassionate work and inspired one another to service for 50 years.
Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye has experienced over the years the significant changes of the Long Term Care Industry in providing services to our seniors, commonly called “our grandfriends.” It is now home for fifty-eight men and women who are continuing life’s journey with the help of family, friends, and professionals in all areas of long term care. Additionally, we have twenty-one apartments, which are considered “independent housing for seniors.”
One of the hallmarks of living here is having the availability of daily Religious Services. This is often why the elderly of Sleepy Eye community wait until there is an opening at Divine Providence when they are choosing an alternative life style.
