May 18, 2020. Hi, everyone. It’s been almost two months that we’ve been living with the COVID-19 restrictions and changes at Divine. I know many of you are getting tired of not being able to see your loved ones. They are missing you, too, but as restrictions for the general public are starting to lift, the risk to our residents – your older-adult family members – increases.
Our biggest concern right now is the nice weather. The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) is very concerned about the consequences for Nursing Home Residents as weather improves and family and friends “stop by” when they see an open window or a resident enjoying the lovely weather. We are asking you to please, please, please help us to keep the residents safe as this pandemic continues to plague our country.
Window visits are strongly encouraged, but through closed windows only. If a window is open when you arrive, MDH is asking (and so are we) that you stay six feet away from the window, and be sure that both you and our Grandfriends are wearing face masks. Screens do NOT filter out COVID. A statistic that scares me is that while only 15 % of the COVID cases have occured among residents of Long Term Care facilities, 80% of the deaths are from that population. So while we want you to stop by, please remember safety.
If you have suggestions for this page or questions you’d like addressed, please feel free to share them with us. We are keeping you in our prayers, and praying for an end to the crisis caused by this new virus. Blessings to you all.
