About Us

Over 50 years

On September 30, 1960, four Daughters of St. Mary of Providence arrived in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota to participate in the mission begun by their founder, Blessed Louis Guanella; a mission of care and compassion under the direction of Our Lady of Divine Providence.

The Guanellian Sisters, St. Mary’s Parish, Clergy and Religious of the New Ulm Diocese; Residents and Staff of Divine Providence Home and the Sleepy Eye Community have continued this compassionate work and inspired one another to service for over 40 years.

The Chapel is the true “Heart of our Home” and all who come to worship know the presence of a loving God who meets all of our needs and who cares for us as a Good Shepherd does his sheep.
